Quiet Connections

This morning moved slowly, but I felt strangely aware — and a little behind in life.

Muffy had been awake long before I was.
Five in the morning, then seven again, both times because of back pain so intense she couldn’t move. Yikes feels like an understatement. It took about an hour for her medication to finally settle in. Her friends in Florida helped her find a service called True Health. Honestly, her friends are angels.

I learned something interesting today too — her babies were born in the same hospital where she was born. It’s strange to imagine doctors witnessing someone’s life from the very beginning, then later watching her children arrive in that same place. Somehow that feels like a quiet thread tying generations together a little closer than usual.

Later on, I finally remembered to text Ash Impala, then GIN. He asked if I had eaten properly. I realized I hadn’t, and was probably heading toward bedrott without noticing. So I made myself a meal and sent proof, just to reassure him.

After that, I watched some games online. Path to Empress was a surprisingly good watch on YouTube. Then Ctow texted — he messages irregularly, which is actually nice to understand now.

Nothing especially important happened today.

But it felt noticeable how small acts of care kept appearing anyway — people checking in, helping quietly, existing nearby without asking for anything in return.

Sometimes days don’t need to be memorable to feel connected to something.

And I think that was enough.
